Wow!

I am a natural blonde that is starting in to get gray hair. This shampoo was amazing. It looks like it turned the clock back by at least 10 years. Love it!

Do your research before you use Purple Shampoos!

Update: I came back to add a star to five. This time I lathered this shampoo for about a minute and then conditioned it. Though my hair was slightly tangled, it wet-brushed through. And leaving it on less time made all the difference. My hair looks healthy, shiny, and the ‘tone’ is beautiful. Once I wash it with regular shampoo, it will continue to look good and I won’t worry about any brassy tones or yellowing that could occur. Really nice shampoo. Less expensive than Oribe.I have tried another of their products and really like it. I’m becoming a fan!——————For better results, doing your research on taking care of your freshly, or not-so-freshly, highlighted, balayage, ombré, or blonde hair is super important. You don’t want to use purple shampoo too soon after ‘bleaching’ your hair—likely, at least 2 weeks. And, using it too often isn’t a good idea either. Nor is leaving it in too long.If you leave purple shampoo in your hair too long, it could tinge it grayish or purpleish or leave it dull looking. You want to look at the pigmentation of the purple too. This Four Reasons is as dark as my Oribe purple shampoo, but is less expensive that Oribe. The more pigmented the purple, the more potent. You also want to look at the language: is it color depositing or is it just highly pigmented purple shampoo, etc — it can be a little confusing so reading reputable blogs or websites will help.I left mine in for 2-3 minutes a full two weeks after having balayage done to my dark brown hair. That 2-3 minutes was too long. A minute would do. It will seem as if your highlights are dulled a bit if you leave it in too long. However, the good news is after I shampoo’d my hair the next day, my highlights looked beautiful! Bright and pretty. So all is not lost if you feel it’s dulled your hair—just leave in for shorter time next use. This is to brighten up any yellow or orangy tones to your hair and I wasn’t quite there yet with mine even after 2 weeks.I’d not use this more than once a week, maybe less.It will make your hair feel a bit dry (that may be also because I left it in 2-3 minutes) so conditioning is paramount.Don’t expect miracles if your hair isn’t already turning yellow/orangy. I’ll use it as a maintenance maybe even less than once a week. And again, leaving it in for less time. This Four Reasons did have great reviews when I googled it.

a product that helps upkeep my balayage hair

My colored hair has the tendency to turn yellowish or brassy. I just recently had my hair re-colored by a stylist to fix the brassiness from my old color. Now that it is looking refreshed, I have been using my purple shampoos a lot more often for the upkeep. I was excited to try this product. It did make my hair feel a little dry after use (my hair was a tangled mess) but it does keep the color looking beautiful. I didn't leave it on for too long before I rinsed it out. I only use this once a week, sometimes I go a little longer. I'm not sure I want to use this too frequently when it isn't needed and I'm also worried of affecting my current color. So far I love the results from just using this once a week. The next morning after using this shampoo I went out in the sun and my hair color just looks so beautiful!

Lathers Beautifully and Tones Out Brassiness!

Since I let my hair grow out into its natural gray/silver/black/white color, I've found that some of the grays, silvers and white sometimes get a bit brassy or yellowish. This is why I've taken to using purple shampoos and that is why I requested this: Four Reasons No Yellow Shampoo- Purple Shampoo for Blonde Hair- Eliminates Brassy Yellow Tones In Blonde, Platinum, Silver & Gray Hair - Vegan & Cruelty Free Silver Hair Shampoo Toner - 10.15 fl oz.I'm quite pleased with this product! It's a very dark purple, so that means it should get all that brassiness out of your hair. If you've never used purple shampoos, there are a few things you should know. It WILL stain your tub, shower curtain, and mostly everything it touches, so you need to be sure you rinse it off of anything it touches. Also, purple shampoos WILL dry out your hair if you use them too often or leave them on for long periods. This one lathered up very nicely, which not all purple shampoos do and I've tried a LOT of them over the past year or so. It was easy to work through my hair thoroughly and after leaving it on for about two minutes, I rinsed it out. I followed up with a softening conditioner, to put a little moisture back in. After towel drying, I added a leave in conditioner to avoid frizz and let my hair dry naturally. It came out beautifully, the brassiness and the little bit of yellow that had crept into my hair are all gone, leaving my hair shiny, bright and healthy looking. That is exactly what I had hoped for! This shampoo is on par with Redken and others I've tried and this one is about the same price as those as well. Overall, I'm very happy with this shampoo.
